RE: Number of items per page

After this post in May, the number of items per page had gone back to 150.

Today, it's got even worse than it was - we're down to 50 items on a page, making it virtually unusable.

Savvy buys for Asda at 940 items would mean loading 19 pages (ie 19 lots of menu, adverts, footers etc to re-load each time).

What's happening with the number of items listed per page on your website?

It keeps being cut down, which means we have to load more & more pages.

A while back it was 300 items per page, then it went down to 150.  Today it's been cut again to 70.  Looking at savvy buys at Tesco now stretches to 11 pages that have to be loaded - very inconvenient and irritating.

I'm guessing that the reason behind this is to speed up scrolling down the page.  If that is the case, then I think you've got your priorities wrong!  I'd much rather have slightly slower scrolling than have to load twice as many pages.

Obviously priorities will differ for different users depending on what platform they are using.  Would it be possible to allow users to select how many items are displayed per page?
