Have recently changed my breakfast cereal from Quaker oats 2.00/KG to unbranded oats 0.75/KG which is a 62.5% saving difference and they've very similar macro nutrients smile
I think it would be really useful if MySupermarket users were able to shop based on a foods nutritional values to get the best value for their money but also would help improve the swap and save feature if consumers are able to quickly compare side by side the nutritional content of multiple products as sometimes a smartprice recommended swap and save has less nutritional content and more empty calories so is not really a savvy buy.. Any comparison method to help enable consumer to shop based on nutrition on a price per weight basis would be great to get the best value for money whilst retaining a well balanced diet and hopefully in few years time we're able to set up a direct debit with supermarkets and have our groceries delivered all year round.
I do not like to cherry pick 'offers' from multiple stores, only to shop on a price per weight basis quickly viewing the price across other stores and the price history as a benchmark but to help strengthen that I need a more convenient way to compare nutritional values to determine the best value for money to ensure it really is a savvy buy and to save money.
Recently I swapped out my breakfast cereal from Bitesize Shredded Wheat which is over £4.00/KG to Quaker Oats which is £2.00/KG and found I equally enjoy eating both but Oats is a lot cheaper, I want to make similar comparisons across meats, dairy, fruits and vegetables across all food groups but to not sacrifice superior nutrition and have to consume more as a result
Will Iceland foods be added to MySupermarket and why have you chosen to ignore it ?
