RE: Useless Searches!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback.

In the past I would search like this:

- go the mysupermarket site;

- click on start shopping;

- enter a product keyword (e.g. "quantum" for Finish Quantum dishwasher tablets) in the search bar;

- I would then see all variations (pack size, different scents) of Finish Quantum dishwasher tablets available, with prices;

- clicking on (or hovering over) any product would reveal which store/s were stocking that product.

So, I wasn't starting off by choosing any particular store to search in.  Whereas now, it is impossible not to be "in a particular store" when you start your search.

Kind regards

Steven

Hi Sdb,

  We let the development team know about your feedback. We've only ever been able to display the results of the current store. However, we are still looking into way to do this efficiently.

The hover feature should help you quickly identify if the item you're looking at is cheapest in your store or elsewhere, but we'll look into developing this functionality further for future updates.

Thanks!

I just noticed the same problem that Terry described.  It took me quite a while to figure out that it was actually now impossible for me to search prices across stores in one action.

The solution provided below, however, doesn't really address the issue.

Previously it was possible to see all items related to a search term *across* all stores stocking these items.

In this way, it was possible to quickly identify which store has the best offer (keeping in mind that products often have many variants e.g. different sizes or on-shelf versus fish/meat/cheese counter).

To do the same thing now is quite a bit more laborious where you firstly find all related products in one store, then start the process of comparing prices by either changing stores or doing as 'MySupermarket' says in her reply above.

This is a substantial loss of functionality for what I want to with the site (check prices) and (sadly) it probably means that I won't be using the site as frequently as I used to.

Is there a particular reason that the search function has changed in this way?

Regards

Steven

Hi Terry!

 Thanks for the feedback. It's still possible to search and see all the prices each store at once!

Simply click on the product you're interested in to see the product's details: including the price and availability elsewhere.

You can also hover your mouse above items on the page to see a quick snapshot of the items.

If you have any other questions or comments please let us know!

So! Here's My irate rambling and question! when i first started to use this ere site, i could search all atore at the same time with one entry in the search bar.......... now i have to "Change Store" to check to see if i have missed any lower prices and if i want to take advantage of them i need to checkout or make a not of the price, store then complete my shop and return to the previous store to take up these or any other offers!!!! could anybody or the owners of said website tell me of a way checking all offers across all store at the same time as it appears impossible!!!! yet when i began using it was possible!!! it seems the logical option for example to check the offers/prices for "Yorkshire Tea" accross all stores without changing stores!!! the insurance and money comparison websites can all do this. any and all help is most welcome thanks.

cheeers folks,

Terry Robinson
