RE: Price reductions in Price Alerts?

Hi Johnny,

For an item to show up on one of our offer shelves or in the price alerts the store has to class them as being on special offer. At the moment we can only track price reductions when the stores label them as offers but this is an area that we can work on in the future so I'll forward your comments to our development team for consideration.

I've had a look at those Branston baked beans and it looks like this is Asda's regular price for now. We can't tell you why they charge so much less than the other stores but that seems to be the case. The last time Asda reduced the price was over a month ago so it can't be classed as a price reduction today!

Hope that answers your query!

Can someone explain, why aren't price reductions fired off in the same way as offers are in the Price Alerts email i.e. BOGOF's, 2for1's, and so on? Why is this?

Check Branston Baked Beans in Tomato Sauce at ASDA for example. These appear to have dropped in price compared to everywhere else i.e. £1.50 compared to £2.55 at other stores though haven't been mentioned in any of the Price Alert emails. OK, it might not be the best offer though would be helpful to know when items are reduced like this, this way we could decide for ourselves whether or not they are a good deal or not.

Unless you check mySupermarket frequently you could actually end up missing these kind of price reductions as I have in the past.

I appreciate the offers mentioned in the Price Alert emails though would equally be helpful if price reductions were fired off as well.

Though their prices do tend to go up as well as down, as you've pointed out, and isn't so easy tracking their prices. Kind of why I was making my point. I was kind of hoping mySupermarket's Price Alerts would be similar to the Amazon price tracker camelcamelcamel.com though appears not to be the case, and as you've pointed out. Thanks all the same for forwarding my comments on to your development team for consideration. Looking forward to any future changes.
