The area of minimum spends is tricky, confused by the fact that everyone is different, and you need to take into account what they charge for delivery too
In the simplest way I can think of, here are the minimum spends for each one:
TescoNo minimum spend, plus a delivery fee
Waitrose£50 minimum, but delivery is free
Asda £25 minimum, plus a delivery fee
Ocado£40 minimum, plus a delivery fee
Sainsburys£25 minimum, but delivery is £6.95 until you spend over £40, when delivery starts to get cheaper
So, it all depends on how much you spend and when you choose to have it delivered, as prices vary by time of day and day of week.
One tip I can give you though is to check out the mySupermarket vouchers section which has all the latest money off vouchers for first time shoppers. Choose a store you have never used before, and when you checkout from mySupermarket use the voucher on the retailer site, which will probably mean you'll end up paying nothing for delivery with some left over too!
I do know that Iceland has a minimum spend of £25 for the free delivery, maybe a visit to the store will open your eyes as its not all freezer food, you can get fresh meat salads and veg, fresh bread and milk, loo rolls to cleaning stuff tea coffee wines and spirits, so a good mixture, alot of things are a £1 in the freezers and offers round the store.
I think Tescos is £60, Morrisons dont deliver at all, I dont know the others like sainsburys or Asdas.
I hope this helps a little bit, and I am sure you wont get it cheaper than the £25 at Iceland.
I'm about to have a hip replacement and wont be able to get out of the house for some weeks (I live alone), so this would be a great way for me to do my weekly shop. I usually spend about £25 - £30 per week on groceries etc. and wondered if there was a minimum sum to be spent before these stores would deliver. Any advice would be most welcome.
